the CKM Angle γ with B → πK Decays

The decays B → πK and Bd → πK were observed by the CLEO collaboration last year; they may play an important role to probe the angle γ of the unitarity triangle of the CKM matrix. After a general parametrization of their decay amplitudes within the Standard Model, strategies to constrain and determine the CKM angle γ with the help of the corresponding CP-conserving and CP-violating observables a...

Measurement of the CKM angle γ at LHCb

The precise measurement of the CKM unitarity triangle angle γ is a key goal of the LHCb physics programme. The uncertainty on γ, the currently least-well known of the three angles, will be reduced dramatically. Complementary measurements will be made in tree-level processes, and modes where loop diagrams play an important role. The tree-level measurements will cover time-integrated as well as t...

Measurement of CP violation and constraints on the CKM angle γ in B±→DK± with D→K0Sπ+π− decays

A model-dependent amplitude analysis of B± →DK± with D→K0 Sπ+π− decays is performed using proton–proton collision data, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1 fb−1, recorded by LHCb at a centre-of-mass energy of 7 TeV in 2011. Values of the CP violation observables x± and y±, which are sensitive to the CKM angle γ, are measured to be x− =+0.027 ± 0.044+0.010 −0.008 ± 0.001, y− =+0.013 ±...

Constraints on the CKM Angle γ and Strong Phases from B → πK Decays Andrzej

As we pointed out recently, the neutral decays Bd → πK and Bd → πK may provide non-trivial bounds on the CKM angle γ. In this paper, we reconsider this approach in the light of recent CLEO data, which look very interesting. In particular, the results for the corresponding CP-averaged branching ratios are in favour of strong constraints on γ, where the second quadrant is preferred. Such a situat...
